The Bytown Fire Brigade is a non-profit Ottawa-based organization established on February 23, 1983, to serve the community as a local historical society. Throughout the years, Bytown Fire Brigade has worked to preserve firefighting artifacts and educate the local community on this important part of its history.

Cantley 1889 is a not for profit group with the goal to discover, catalogue, protect and promote Cantley, QC’s heritage. Their activities include:

-Hosting events such as visits to local natural and historical heritage sites and hosting online talks;
-Creating interpretative panels for local historical sites;
-Liaising with the municipality and municipal council concerning our built heritage;
-Maintaining a list of all heritage buildings and sites;
-Promoting our local heritage through our Virtual Museum, our montly column in our local newspapers, etc;
-Collecting oral history;
-Completing special projects such as the Tugboat, mining car and Blackburn family cemetery official opening, etc.
