Ruby Edet

Executive Director

Dr Ruby Edet is a dedicated leader with over a decade of experience advancing equity, inclusion, and community engagement in Canada and internationally. As the Executive Director of Capital Heritage Connexion, she works closely with the City of Ottawa and local partners to champion diverse voices and strengthen connections across the heritage sector.

Ruby has led equity and systems change initiatives in community health, education, and cultural organizations, including her role as the inaugural Systems Change Manager at Somerset West Community Health Centre. She also serves on several boards and advisory committees, including the Social Planning Council of Ottawa and the City of Ottawa’s Equity and Diversity Advisory Committee.

Passionate about people, culture, and collaboration, Ruby brings compassion, insight, and commitment to every space she leads. Outside work, she enjoys cooking and learning new languages.

Christopher Chase-Onions

Program Coordinator

Christopher Chase-Onions (he/him) is a Heritage Worker and Communications and Outreach Professional based in Ottawa. He has worked on eleven election campaigns since 2011 in both volunteer and paid capacities, most recently running field operations for two campaigns in the 2025 Provincial and Federal Elections.
A graduate of the Applied Museum Studies Program at Algonquin College, Christopher completed his internship at Ingenium as a Conservation Technician and went on to work on the Centre Block Rehabilitation as a Junior Masonry Conservator for Capital Conservation Services. He also holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Greek and Roman Studies from Carleton University.
Christopher believes that movement building will be key to the future of the heritage sector in Ottawa, and that a strong, united movement will lead to more effective advocacy. He looks forward to working closely with CHC’s membership to bring together the diverse perspectives and lived experiences of Ottawa’s heritage workers.
