The Friends of the City of Ottawa Archives (FCOA) is a voluntary non-profit association that supports the Archives in protecting and sharing materials relating to Ottawa’s remarkable history.

Friends of the Rideau is a non-profit organization made up of volunteers who care passionately about the Rideau Canal.

• We work to enhance and preserve the natural and cultural heritage of the Rideau Canal.
• We work to increase public awareness and enjoyment of the Rideau Canal.
• We work to develop strong public support for the long-term well being of the Rideau Canal.
• We promote co-operative Rideau Waterway information distribution.

Founded in Ottawa by His Highness the Aga Khan in partnership with the Government of Canada, the Global Centre for Pluralism is an independent, charitable organization. Inspired by Canada’s experience as a diverse and inclusive country, the Centre was created to advance positive responses to the challenge of living peacefully and productively together in diverse societies.

Built in 1962, the Gloucester Historical Society resides in the former Gloucester Township Hall. Volunteers will address questions regarding the history of Gloucester, and offer tours of the Gloucester museum artefacts located in the same building. Historic St. James Anglican Church will also be open next door. Parking is available off Leitrim Road next to the Fire Hall.

Goulbourn Museum shares the story of Ottawa’s oldest military settlement. Compare yourself to a soldier in the War of 1812, or dress up in period costume in our Village Store!

A community group dedicated to the history of the former Goulbourn Township, now amalgamated into the City of Ottawa in Ontario, Canada.  Preserving and keeping local history alive is what we do so if you are interested in history and heritage, please join us.

Heritage Ottawa is an organization of dedicated volunteers who are committed to promoting the appreciation and conservation of built heritage in Ottawa and the National Capital Region.

The “popular, vernacular, modest or small heritage” built heritage conveys the pride of the neighborhood. It is a collective creation that transpires in an informal way but holds undeniable beauty and social interest.
